The new sports centre will provide facilities for the populations of La Manga, Cabo de Palos and Los Belones

The Department of Tourism and Consumption is to finance a sports complex in the southern zone of the Mar Menor to the tune of 600,000 euros, granted in four annual payments, and that will be added to the endowment of more than 300,000 euros contributed by the Mar Menor Consortium.

The construction site is on a municipal plot situated in Playa Paraíso, and the new 'Mar Menor' sports complex will serve the people of the surrounding areas including Cabo de Palos and Los Belones, as well as visitors to this southerly zone.

This project is included within the Plan of Infrastructures and Tourist Equipment and is in addition to other provisions assoociated with the development of the area of the Mar Menor, such as the construction of road safety parks and the development of a bike lane in the demarcation of San Javier.

In order to offer a quality facility, focused on tourism, the planned sports centre will include an astroturf football pitch, an open air sports field, and two padel courts, and in addition changing rooms, gymnasium and canteen, a store for nautical activities and a space destined exclusively for offices.

This new sports complex will greatly enhance the facilities available in the area of the Mar Menor, and is sure to be welcomed by residents and visitors alike.
